Soaring Eagles Drop Tuesday Matchup at Keuka

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. -- The Elmira College women's field hockey team fell in their road finale of the season to the Wolves of Keuka College, 2-0. After Keuka notched a goal in the first 18 second of play to open the scoring, the offense took a halt for the next 28 minutes until the the final goal was scored at the 28:25 mark right before the end of the first half.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
It took just 18 seconds for the Wolves to notch the game-winner, as Alyssa Muszak scored unassisted. The Soaring Eagles would put up three shots in the first half, while Keuka managed 10.
 
Keuka was able to score once again as Kirstin Billings found the back of the cage on an assist from Makaela Mills to widen the lead to 2-0.
 
In the second, neither team was able to find the back of the net, as Keuka finished the match with a 21-3 advantage in shots, 11-1 on frame. The Purple & Gold did a good job containing Keuka on penalty corners, who led the category 17-0 for the game. MeganRae Burke '24 made eight saves in net for the Soaring Eagles, while Kathryn Kielbasinski '23 was credited with a defensive save on the afternoon.
 
UP NEXT:
EC returns home for a match against the Pioneers from Utica College on Saturday to conclude the season. The Soaring Eagles will hit the field at 2:00 PM as the team honors the 2022 senior class of Felicity Brockhuizen, Kristin Tull, Alex Brockhuizen, and Kaylee Gill.
