ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira College men's soccer team honored 13 members from its senior class on Saturday afternoon as the Soaring Eagles dropped a 2-0 decision against St. John Fisher at Elmira's Notre Dame High School.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Battling less than ideal conditions, the Cardinals would record the first goal of the match by finding the back of the net in the 29th minute of action as Jackson Bishop finished off a pass from Riley Rease. The Soaring Eagles had several offensive opportunities early in the half as Cardinal goalkeeper Jadon Schlierf would stop three chances from Anthony Esce, Jr. '22,
Jacob Casallas '22, and
Lutho Mlunguza '23.
St. John Fisher added an insurance goal in the 57th minute as Ben Woolingham made it 2-0 following a second assist from Rease. The Soaring Eagles, who played with just 10 players for a majority of the second half, battled to record four shots on goal. Schlierf would be up to the task each time in net for the Cardinals.
Elmira finished the match with a 7-5 advantage in shots on goal and forced Schlierf to make seven saves in net for St. John Fisher. Elmira senior goalkeeper
