Chance Gorman '24 score his second of the contest, the Purple & Gold would come up short.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Thoroughbreds would crack the scoreboard nearing the midway point in the first period as Mason Beecher found the back of the net past Elmira goalkeeper
Chris Janzen '21 to give the hosts an early 1-0 lead.
Just four minutes later, Skidmore would once again score on a goal from Will Dow-Kenny and take a 2-0 lead into the first intermission. From there, Gorman would score at the 7:48 mark in the second period, on a power-play opportunity, with assists from
Jared Smith '24 and
Jake Russo '23 to cut the deficit in half at 2-1.
Headed into the third period, it was the Thoroughbreds who would score on a power-play chance of their own to extend the lead once again at 3-1 at the midway point in the period. Nearing the end of the game, Janzen would spend some time off the ice as the Soaring Eagles looked to capitalize, which they would as Gorman scored his second of the game on assists from
Amedeo Mastrangeli '24 and
Nicholas Domitrovic '24 with just 56 seconds remaining.
The Thoroughbreds would successfully stop the EC attack in the final minute of the game, skating away with a 3-2 victory.
For the night, Janzen finished with 30 saves while Skidmore keeper Tate Brandon would finish the game with an identical 30 saves.
