ECAC Esports Release
DANBURY, Conn. -- Elmira College's
Jared Money '22 capped off a successful junior campaign by collecting ECAC Esports VALORANT Co-Player of the Spring accolades.
Money, who also competes on the Soaring Eagles' Fortnite and Rocket League teams, was recognized after leading EC to a second consecutive VALORANT playoff berth. Elmira went 5-2 during the regular season, which included wins over Central Methodist (Mo.) (2-0), Saint Rose (2-0), John Jay (2-1), Muskingum (2-0), and Farmingdale State (2-1). The Soaring Eagles qualified for ECAC Esports postseason play as the No. 7 seed during the spring season.
"Incredibly proud of the work Jared has put into the program as a whole, and for him to get this recognition from the ECAC is a testament to what he will continue to do as we look ahead to the fall," said EC's head esports coach,
Zack Ciaramitaro '14. "While each player on our VALORANT team plays a critical role, Jared is definitely someone who can come up with a big play and turn the tide of a round."
A Templeton, California, native, Money is the first-ever Soaring Eagle to receive Player of the Fall/Spring honors from the ECAC. He was also included on the league's Spring 2021 All-Academic Team.
Christian Dumadag from the College of Staten Island shared the VALORANT Co-Player of the Spring award with Money.
