ELMIRA, N.Y. -- The Elmira Women's Volleyball team dropped its Monday evening matchup to the Broncos from SUNY Delhi, falling 3-2 in a tightly-contested matchup. Despite outkilling the Broncos (51-45), the SUNY Delhi took advantage of 23 service errors from the Purple & Gold en route to a five-set victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Broncos cruised to a 25-17 victory in the first set after using two spans of five straight points to capture victory. The Soaring Eagles hit -.172 in the set before turning a positive percentage in the final four.
Trailing 1-0 in the match, Elmira took the lead and never gave it back in the second while ahead 16-15. Despite Delhi having tied the set four additional times, Elmira took the set 25-23. The Soaring Eagles hit a best .270% in the second set, using ten kills (four from
Sam Sprague '22) to win the set.
After taking the second set 25-22, the Soaring Eagles found themselves on the opposite side of the score in the third, dropping the set 25-22 which put the Broncos ahead 2-1 in the match.
Much like Saturday against Houghton, Elmira was able to fight from behind and force a fifth set after taking the fourth 25-21. In the fifth, the Broncos scored four points in a five point stretch to take a 10-6 lead before ending the match on a service ace.
Maddie Boucher '24 led the way with 14 kills for the Soaring Eagles while
Kaylene Sauschuck '22 and Sprague each added ten.
Maddie Hampton '24 added 16 digs to her line while
Amelia Martin '23 added 15.
Cami Witchley '25 set a new career-high in assists with 40 in her young career.
