LA PLUME, Pa. -- The Elmira College women's field hockey team dropped their afternoon bout against the Keystone College Giants on Sunday afternoon, falling by a score of 4-2. Just a day after taking on Brockport, the Soaring Eagles were back in action on Sunday, scoring their first goals of the season as a team.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Keystone controlled the game during the first quarter of play and took an early 2-0 lead on goals from Maria Tomada and Victoria Mainero. Outshooting EC 5-1 in the opening frame, the Giants found themselves up by a pair just 12 minutes into the contest.
The Soaring Eagles posted a solid effort on the offensive side of the ball during the second quarter, outshooting Keystone 6-1.
Felicity Brockhuizen '22 was able to pull the game within one goal at the 26:35 mark after being assisted by
Sarah Griffith – the first goal of the season for Elmira.
Coming out of the halftime break, Keystone added two more in the third as Miranda Mascia and Tomada added to the score. With under two minutes to play,
Kaylee Gill '22 scored the second goal of her career off the feed from
Katelin Bailey '25. The assist marked the first of Bailey's career.
The Giants outshot the Soaring Eagles by a narrow margin (12-11), as all 11 of Elmira's shots were on goal.
MeganRae Burke '24 posted five saves in net in 60 minutes of play.
