UTICA, N.Y. --  An Empire 8 conference matchup with the Utica Pioneers at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium ended in a 6-0 defeat for the Soaring Eagles. Elmira goalkeeper MeganRae Burke '24 posted 11 saves for the Purple & Gold in the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Pioneers created a shot on goal just 55 seconds into the match and Alyssa Pisano was there to clean up the rebound to give her team a 1-0 lead. The EC defense would respond though and keep Utica off the board for the remainder of the quarter.

The Soaring Eagles searched for a tying score in the 13th minute when they won back to back penalty corners but could not find a goal from either opportunity.

The Pioneers would find two goals in the second quarter to go into halftime up 3-0. Utica would do the rest of its damage in the third quarter, coming up with goals at the 30:48, 33:22, and 39:46 marks.
