Soaring Eagles Battle To 0-0 Draw At Medaille

BUFFALO, N.Y. --  The Elmira College women's soccer team battled host Medialle University to a 0-0 tie on Wednesday afternoon at Medaille Sports Complex at Buffalo Color Park. The Soaring Eagles outshot the Mavericks 17 to 6 but were unable to convert any of their chances into a goal. EC also dominated the corner kick opportunities in the match, winning ten to Medaille's zero.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Purple & Gold were aggressive out of the gates as they won three corner kicks and ripped off three shots. The Mavericks responded over the next ten minutes of action, forcing goalkeeper Neveah Winston '25 to three saves. The Soaring Eagles would regain control for the rest of the half as they won three more corner kicks and created eight shot opportunities. The second half saw both teams tighten up on defense with just six total shots after seeing 17 in the first 45 minutes of play. Elmira pushed for a game-winner over the final 15 minutes of action with shots by senior Libby Cook '26 and junior Sarah Wagner '24, while freshman Faith Ingber '26 and senior Kaitlyn Bickham '26 each attempted shots but both were off target.

The Purple & Gold are back at Campus Field for Senior Day on Saturday, October 22 as they play host to Keuka College. Kick-off is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
