COLLEGEVILLE, PA. – In the inaugural matchup between both programs, the Elmira College women's wrestling team recorded a 30-14 victory over Ursinus College inside Helfferich Hall on Sunday afternoon. The Soaring Eagles close the first half of their season with five dual victories and will return to the mat on January 14, 2023.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Ursinus would record the first contested victory in the bout at 116 pounds as Jocelyn Lass notched an 11-1 tech fall win at the 3:15 mark against Elmira's
Ariyanna Orosco '26. The Soaring Eagles opened the match with a pair of victories via forfeit at 101 and 109 pounds before seeing the lead trimmed to 10-4.
The Bears would take a 14-10 lead in the match after earning a pair of victories via forfeit at 123 and 130 pounds. Both sides would double-forfeit at 136 pounds before seeing the second of three contested bouts at 143 pounds.
Elmira's
Gabby Bradigan '26 would move up in weight classes for the Soaring Eagles to face Riley Frymoyer at 143 pounds. Bradigan continued her strong start to her freshman campaign as she pinned Frymoyer at the 1:38 mark to give EC back the lead at 15-14.
The final bout that would be contested by both sides featured Elmira's
Hazel Dahlquist '25 and Ursinus' Calista Kolmer wresting at 170 pounds. Dahlquist would need just 16 seconds to turn Kolmer over to her back to record the pin and be victorious for the Purple & Gold.
Elmira also recorded victories in the match via forfeit at 155 and 191 pounds.

Kaitlyn Potter '26,
Skylah Chakouian '25, and
Mariyah Casados '26 all recorded forfeit victories in the match for EC.
