ELMIRA, N.Y. – Elmira College's Megan Edwards (Women's Wrestling) and the Elmira College Cheerleading Team were recognized on Thursday evening by WETM 18 Sports during the 10th Annual Twin Tiers Sports Awards.
Sponsored by Mansfield University Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Edwards big takedown for the Elmira College Women's Wrestling Team against Ithaca College inside Speidel Gymnasium. Edwards would go on to earn AMCC First Team All-Conference honors, while placing first in the NCAA Region 1 Tournament in the 124lb bracket. In addition to her accolades on the mat, Edwards would earn the NCAA Elite Scholar-Athlete Award at the National Championship site, the first given out in NCAA Women's Wrestling history.
