ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira College women's wrestling hosted the inaugural NCAA Regional Tournament, Region 1, at the LECOM Event Center this past weekend, February 21-22. The Soaring Eagles landed a third-place finish after tallying 115.5 team points while marking seven podium finishers. Amongst the seven podium finishers, two wrestlers claimed individual titles:
Megan Edwards (124 pounds) and
Zoey Lints (145 pounds).

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Edwards competed in the 124-weight class and posted a 3-0 record on the day to collect the title. In her first match, Edwards recorded the fall at 1:21 to advance to the semifinal match. In her second bout, she notched a 10-0 tech fall in 2:17. In the championship match, Edwards recorded another 10-0 tech fall in just 0:35 to automatically qualify her for the NCAA National Tournament.
- Lints competed in the 145 bout and posted a 4-0 record on the day to collect the title. In her first match, Lints recorded the fall at 1:25 to advance to the quarterfinal match. In her second bout, she recorded another fall in an impressive 0:10 to advance to the semifinals. In her third match, Lints recorded her third fall of the day at 1:02. In the championship match, she recorded a 4-1 decision to automatically qualify her for the NCAA National Tournament.
- Abby Duke competed in the 110-weight class and posted a 2-2 record on the day to place fourth. In her first match, Duke recorded the fall at 0:56 to advance to the quarterfinal match. In her second bout, Duke fell short with a fall at 4:27. In her third match, she bounced back with a 12-2 tech fall in 2:38. In the match for third-place, Duke fell just short with a fall at 1:07 to collect fourth.
- Talia Robles competed in the 160 bout and posted a 2-2 record on the day to place fourth. In her first match, Robles recorded the fall at 2:11 to advance to the quarterfinal match. In her second bout, Robles fell short with a tech fall at 4:04. In her third match, she bounced back with an 11-0 tech fall at 4:27. In the match for third-place, Robles fought with grit but fell short in a 6-4 decision to collect fourth.
- Kali Bailey competed in the 131-weight class and posted a 4-2 record on the day to place fifth. In her first match, Bailey recorded the fall at 1:27 followed by her falling just short in her second match with a fall at 4:06. In her third match, Bailey bounced back with a fall at 0:39 followed by a 10-0 tech fall in her fourth bout. In her fifth bout, she fell just short with a fall at 0:33. In the match for fifth place, Bailey conquered her opponent with a hard-fought 11-5 decision to claim fifth.
- Gabby Bradigan competed in the 138 bout and posted a 2-2 record on the day to place fifth. In her first match of the day, Bradigan recorded a 12-0 tech fall. In her second and third bout, she fell just short with a pair of tech falls. In the match for fifth place, Bradigan notched the fall at 2:05 to collect fifth.
- Alexis Bilka-Durdon competed in the 207-weight class and posted a 2-2 record on the day to place fifth. In her first match of the day, Bilka-Durdon fell just short with a fall at 4:13. She bounced back with a fall of her own against her opponent at 1:20. In her third bout, she fought with grit but narrowly missed the mark with a 2-1 decision. In the match for fifth place, she secured the victory with a fall at 4:47 to collect fifth.
- Joycedeliz Rodriguez Santia competed in the 103 bout and posted a 2-3 record on the day to place sixth. In her first match of the day, Rodriguez Santia fell just short with a fall before bouncing back in her second bout with a fall in 0:26. In her third match, she notched her second win in a competitive 9-6 decision before falling just short two more times to collect sixth.
- Angelina Caban was seen representing the Soaring Eagles in the 180-weight class where she posted a 2-2 record on the day. Her first win came in her first match, notching a fall at 4:08. Her second win came in her third bout where she recorded a second fall at 1:34.
