HUNTINGDON, PA. – Desiree Roy '25 paced Elmira with a team-best 11 points on Saturday afternoon in the finale of the Comfort Inn Classic, but Elmira was unable to overcome just 11 first half points as the Squirrels from Oberlin College went on to pick up the 56-32 victory.
Roy, who was named to the All-Tournament team after posting a double-double a night ago, was the only Soaring Eagle to record more than four points on the afternoon, while Taylor Jung '25 grabbed eight rebounds to go along with her four points.
The Soaring Eagles were able to create just seven attempts from three-point range on the afternoon, as Roy converted on her first of the season from deep. The Squirrels on the other hand, shot 33 times from downtown, knocking down nine shots. The Purple & Gold's 19 turnovers led to a 22-4 advantage for Oberlin in points off turnovers, while Elmira did lead the points in the paint battle, 16-12.
