LOCATION: Washington, Pa.
TEAM RECORDS: Elmira (0-4, 0-1 E8), Washington & Jefferson (1-3, 1-0 E8)

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Presidents opened the scoring just over a minute into the first quarter off of a penalty corner to make it 1-0. With less than five minutes to play in the opening frame, W&J would extend the lead to 2-0 with a strike from 10 yards out at the 10:46 mark.

W&J tallied two more goals in the second quarter as the home team would make it 3-0 at the 17:31 mark before a goal at the 20:49 mark increased the advantage to 4-0. Elmira goalkeeper MeganRae Burke recorded 11 saves in the first half for the Purple & Gold, including six in the opening quarter.

The lead would be pushed to 5-0 for the Presidents at the 39:57 mark of the third quarter as a loose ball in front of the net would be collected and shot past Burke. That would close the scoring in the contest as Burke would record stop four shots the rest of the way for the Soaring Eagles.

Late in the fourth quarter, the Soaring Eagles would get awarded a pair of penalty corners that lead to a scoring look from Kylie Rosen '23. Rosen would have her attempt blocked by a W&J defender to thwart the opportunity.

Burke faced a total of 33 shots in the contest and finished with 15 saves for the Purple & Gold. Burke has 77 saves on the season and has tallied at-least 15 saves in each of Elmira's four games.
