Soaring Eagles Fall 2-1 on Saturday at Medaille

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Elmira College Field Hockey team took an early lead on a goal from Kylie Rosen '23 with under two minutes to play in the first quarter of action. The Purple & Gold would hold that lead deep into the 4th quarter before Medaille was able to score two late goals to grab a 2-1 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Soaring Eagles won their second penalty corner of the game after 13 minutes of play and Rosen was able to capitalize as she scored her second goal of the season. Elmira would hold that lead deep into the 4th quarter before Medaille was able to find an equalizer with just under seven minutes remaining in the game. Two minutes later they were able to break through for what would be the game winning goal in the 55th minute of play.

The Purple & Gold would continue to push forward despite trailing and won another penalty corner with two and half minutes left. Sophomore Jenna Ellis '24 was able to get a shot off on goal but the Medaille goalkeeper was able to make the save.

Despite the loss, the Soaring Eagles put in their strongest display of the year with season highs in shots (20), shots on goal (10) and penalty corners (17).

EC is back at home on Wednesday, September 21 to take on another conference foe, this time when they face off against Houghton University at 4:30 p.m.
