KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Elmira College Men's Basketball team picked up its second win in conference play, defeating the hosts from Keuka College 73-56 on Saturday afternoon. After Dylan Jacob '24 scored the opening bucket from deep just two minutes into the contest, the Soaring Eagles would never look back en route to victory.
Over the first four minutes of play, the Soaring Eagles would use a 9-0 run to begin the contest as it took nearly seven minutes to convert on its first field goal from the floor. After a quick Keuka run which trimmed the Elmira lead to six, the Soaring Eagles would use an 11-0 run of its own as part of a complete 20-2 run, which increased the EC lead to 24 with 4:02 remaining in the opening half. Down the stretch, the home squad would outscore EC by five, with Elmira leading by 19 at the break, 38-19.
The second half played very even offensively for each of the teams, as Keuka held a slim 37-35 advantage in points. After holding Keuka to just 15.8% from the floor in the first half, the Soaring Eagles would play relatively even basketball the remainder of the way as it took home the 73-56 victory.
Quintel Clements '22 would lead the way for EC with a double-double after posting 20 points and 11 rebounds. Riley Spencer '26 chipped in 17 points, including three shots from beyond the arc.
