Soaring Eagles Earn Road Point vs. Alfred

ALFRED, NY. – After falling behind early, Elmira women's soccer got back into the game thanks to a second-half goal by Tierney Krawczyk '27. The Soaring Eagles could not find another but held the opposition to one goal, drawing 1-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Alfred got on the scoreboard 10 minutes into the match when it scored off a corner, putting Elmira in an early deficit.
  • Despite four shots of their own in the first half, the Soaring Eagles went into the halftime break scoreless and trailing 1-0.
  • Elmira found the equalizer within the first 10 minutes of the second half after goalkeeper Nevaeh Winston '25 collected an Alfred corner before sending the ball long to Krawczyk, who made a one-on-one run in the opposition half. Krawczyk dribbled past the defender and beat the on-rushing keeper for her fourth goal of the season.
  • No team would score for the rest of the match, and it ended in a 1-1 draw.
  • Krawczyk led the team with three shots and two on goal. Skyler O'Malley '26 had Elmira's other shot on goal.
  • Winston finished the game with nine saves.
