ITHACA, N.Y. – The Soaring Eagles kicked off their season on Friday afternoon with a trip to Ithaca to take on the Ithaca Bombers. Despite a first goal in the Purple and Gold for forward Piper Andrews '27, Elmira was unable to add to its goal tally, falling to the Bombers by a final score of 10-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Ithaca netted its first goal quickly, scoring inside the fourth minute before adding another a couple minutes later.
- No more goals would come until the 24th minute, when Ithaca scored on a breakaway goal. They would add two more in the following eight minutes.
- Ithaca opened the second half with two more goals before forward Piper Andrews '27 found the back of the net in the 56th minute off a misplayed header from an Ithaca defender for her first goal with the Purple and Gold.
- Unfortunately, that would be all the Soaring Eagles could produce as the Bombers rippled the net three more times.
- Goalkeeper Nevaeh Winston registered seven saves in 45 minutes on the pitch.
