ELMIRA, NY. – Elmira women's soccer could not find the back of the net in their matchup with Russell Sage, falling by a final score of 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Elmira had a chance early in the game with a shot on goal by Sophie Tarntino '25, which was snagged by the Gator's keeper to keep the game scoreless.
- Russell Sage netted the opener shortly thereafter when it found the back of the net in the 22nd minute.
- The Soaring Eagles could not produce another shot in the half and they trailed by one entering the break.
- Elmira opened the second half with a shot by Piper Andrews '26, which sailed over the top of the goal.
- That would be the final shot of the game for EC as the Gators closed out the 1-0 win.
- Goalkeeper Nevaeh Winston '25 stopped 11 shots in the match, keeping Elmira in the game.
