ELMIRA, NY. – Elmira Field Hockey returned home to take on the Wells Express on Wednesday afternoon for its first home match of the season. After a goal scored by Elmira, Wells College forfeited the game due to player safety concerns. As a result, the Soaring Eagles picked up their first win of the season in the shortened match.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- EC outshot Wells 14-1 and 8-1 on goal, with Elmira having one save.
- Elmira opened the scoring with 4:53 left in the first quarter after a goal originally credited to Caitlin Ehlenfield '27 with the assist by Indigo Smallwood '27. Due to NCAA forfeit guidelines the goal is officially counted as a team goal and no stats from the contest will be official.
- The game was stopped with 6:41 left in the second quarter.
