UTICA, N.Y. – The Elmira College field hockey team returned to Empire 8 Conference action on Saturday as the Soaring Eagles battled the Utica University Pioneers. It would be Utica who recorded a 10-0 victory from Gaetano Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Pioneers tallied three goals in the first quarter and would open the scoring just over three minutes into the contest. Utica added a pair of goals at the 5:35 mark and again at the 9:11 mark to push its lead to 3-0.
- In the second quarter, Utica scored six goals to increase its advantage to 9-0 heading into halftime against the Soaring Eagles.
- There would only be one shot recorded in the third quarter, while Elmira would get a penalty corner opportunity from Talia Nash '28.
- Utica closed the scoring with a goal in the fourth quarter at the 50:35 mark to make it 10-0.
- Elmira's Nicole Luther '28 notched a shot on goal in the fourth quarter that would be turned away by the Pioneers. The Purple & Gold would also get a pair of penalty corner opportunities from Caitlin Ehlenfield '27 in the first and fourth quarters.
