Luther and Ehlenfield Score for Soaring Eagles on Wednesday against Keuka

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – Nicole Luther '28 scored her third goal of the season and Caitlin Ehlenfield '27 added her second of the season as the Elmira College field hockey team dropped a 9-2 decision on Wednesday against the Keuka College Wolves in Empire 8 Conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Nicole Luther '28 opened the scoring just over five minutes into the first quarter for the Soaring Eagles. Talia Nash '28 notched her first collegiate assist on Luther's team-leading third goal of the season.
  • Keuka would answer 47 seconds later with the equalizer to knot the score 1-1 as the Wolves held a 6-1 advantage in shots to end the opening frame.
  • The Wolves added four goals in the second quarter, taking a 5-1 advantage into halftime against the Purple & Gold.
  • Keuka scored one goal in the third quarter, and the Wolves held a 10-5 advantage in shots. The Soaring Eagles had each of their five shots on goal denied by the Keuka goalkeeper in the frame.
  • Caitlin Ehlenfield '27 notched the second goal of the contest for the Purple & Gold at the 50:54 mark as her second goal of the season would be assisted by Madison Fleming '27.
  • Fleming paced Elmira with four shots on goal in the contest, while Ehlenfield recorded three shots on goal. Elmira goalkeeper Reese Bowen '27 recorded 14 saves in the contest.
  • The Soaring Eagles recorded a season-high 11 shots on goal to go along with four penalty corners in the contest.
