ELMIRA, N.Y. – It was a second consecutive contest for
Nicole Luther '28 finding the back of the cage for the Elmira College field hockey program on Saturday as the Soaring Eagles dropped a 6-1 decision at home against the Hartwick College Hawks.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Hartwick tallied the first goal of the contest at the 2:45 mark of the first quarter before adding to its lead at the 6:30 mark as the Hawks would take a 2-0 advantage.
- The Hawks answered with a pair of goals later in the quarter to take a 4-0 advantage over the Soaring Eagles.
- Elmira would get the lone goal of the second quarter as Nicole Luther '28 tallied her team-leading fourth goal of the season at the 26:18 mark to trim the deficit to 4-1.
- Hartwick added goals in both the third and fourth quarters of the contest to push its lead to 6-1. A goal at the 48:40 mark would close the scoring for the Hawks.
- Elmira defender Peyton DeMaio '28 recorded three defensive saves in the contest and pushed her season total to 16, currently sitting second all-time in program history behind Julia Derco '17 and her 18 career defensive saves for the Purple & Gold.
- Between the pipes for the Soaring Eagles, goalkeeper Reese Bowen '27 recorded a career-high 19 saves.
