ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira College Soaring Eagles dropped a wild, back-and-forth game 4-2 against the Nazareth University Golden Flyers on Senior Day.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Jake Pawlika scored first for the Golden Flyers, putting Nazareth ahead 1-0 in the third minute. The Soaring Eagles answered quickly as Xavier Carter '25, starting in his second career game, tied the match with a seeing-eye shot from the top of the box after a corner. Jhoan Chavez '26 picked up the assist on Carter's first collegiate goal.
Pawlika struck again in the 19th minute on a penalty kick.
Again, Elmira would answer quickly as Valentino Aguilera '27 took a feed from Aadne Aarstad '28 and buried it into the back of the net. Aguilera's second of the season tied the match at 2.
Ryan Fitzgerald scored 85 seconds into the second half, the deciding goal.
Jack Lannon added another goal for Nazareth by way of another penalty kick.
Asher Ellis '25 started in net for Elmira and turned away five shots while his counterpart, Logan Menna stopped six of eight shots from the Soaring Eagles.

The Soaring Eagles will wrap up their regular season schedule on Wednesday evening as they travel to Houghton for a matchup with the Highlanders. Opening kickoff is slated for 7:00 PM at Burke Field.
