ALFRED, N.Y. – The Elmira College Soaring Eagles traveled to Alfred University to take the pitch against the Saxons, coming home with a 1-1 draw. Juan Carlos Cruz Gandia '27 stopped six shots in the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
After a scoreless first half between the teams, Pietro Gallina '26 put the Soaring Eagles ahead with his third goal of the season in the 48th minute. Gallina's marker was assisted by Valentino Aguilera '27.
Alfred's answer came quickly as Alexander Teijeira tied the game in the 55th minute.
Tyler Mulholland stopped five of six attempts on net from the Soaring Eagles.
Gallina finished the contest leading Elmira in shots on goal with three while Mohamed Koroma '25, Selvin Maldonado '25, and Ashraf Bonseu '25 each also finished with one shot on goal each.
UP NEXT:
Elmira will travel to Oneonta on Wednesday for a 7:00 PM kickoff against the Hawks of Hartwick College. The Soaring Eagles have won the last two meetings between the programs and hold a 3-2 edge all-time in the Battle of the Birds.
