ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira College women's soccer team took a 1-0 lead into the half on Saturday afternoon against the visiting Saxons from Alfred University, before three second half goals from the visitors gave them their sixth win of the season. For Elmira, it would be a 35th minute goal from Bella Thomas '28, as a shot into the upper righthand corner of the net from nearly 30 yards out allowed the first year to earn her first collegiate goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The game would play scoreless for the first 34 minutes of play before Thomas was able to put the Purple & Gold ahead 1-0.
- Carrying a 1-0 lead into the break, the Saxons would see goals scored at the 59th, 63rd, and 79th minutes of play as the captured a 2-1 victory.
- Alfred led the shots battle 9-4, including a 6-3 advantage on goal. Additionally, they would control the corner kicks battle 11-1.
- Nevaeh Winston '25 finished with three saves in net for EC while Faith Ingber '26 and Tierney Krawczyk '27 each recorded the other shots on goal for the Purple & Gold.

The Soaring Eagles return to the field on Wednesday, October 9 as they battle the visiting Hawks from Hartwick College at Campus Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
