ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira College Soaring Eagles opened their season with a strong showing, winning 65-45 over the Hilbert College Hawks on Friday night. Kaura Bogota '25 and D'Asia Jones '25 registered double-digit points in the contest with 21 and 13, respectively.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Soaring Eagles shot 70.6% from the field in their 27-point second quarter to give themselves a big lead going into the halftime break 41-15.
Kelsey Stewart '26 played the role of set-up man for EC, leading the team with four assists.
Emma Ryan '28 and Taylor Jung '25 each pulled down five rebounds, leading the team. Jung also recorded the team's only block of the night.
Elmira's defense held the Hawks to 35% shooting from the field, a strong defensive effort.
Thad Phillips is now 4-0 in season openers since becoming the Soaring Eagles head coach.
