Erik Charnetski '24 finished the day with three hits including a two-run home run as the Elmira College baseball program recorded a 12-6 victory on Friday against the Wells College Express in a neutral site matchup at Gallaudet University.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Wells opened the scoring in the contest with a run in the top of the first inning against Elmira starter Jack Finnerty '23. The Soaring Eagles responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame as Charnetski delivered his second home run in as many days for the Purple & Gold to make it 2-1.
- Gabe Fellows '25 added to Elmira's lead in the second inning with a sacrifice fly as Xander Canfield '26 scored to make it 3-1. The Express trimmed the deficit to 3-2 with a leadoff home run in the top of the fourth inning as Finnerty would escape without any further damage.
- The Soaring Eagles would add insurance to the scoreboard in the bottom of the frame as Nathan Ofalt '26 and Fellows notched back-to-back run-scoring triples, while Kaden Bolt '26 plated a run later in the frame with a single.
- A four-run fifth inning opened the door offensively for the Purple & Gold as Charnetski highlighted the frame with a two-run single. Brett Warden '25 and Matteo Salvati '25 produced the other two runs in the frame with bases-loaded walks for Elmira.
- Wells plated a pair of runs in both the seventh and ninth innings as David Kruis '23 tossed the final four innings out of the bullpen after taking over for Finnerty in the sixth inning. Kruis earned his first save of the season, while Finnerty notched his first win of the season for the Soaring Eagles.
