HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Sage opened the scoring in the bottom of the second inning as the Gators would plate eight runs in the frame. The Gators followed with six more runs in the bottom of the third inning.
  • The Soaring Eagles would get a pair of runners on base in the top of the fourth inning with two outs after Matteo Salvati '25 was hit by a pitch and Xander Canfield '26 reached on an error. Stone would put EC on the board with his fifth home run of the season to trim the deficit to 14-3.
  • Elmira plated three runs in the top of the seventh inning as Alex Dinicola '26 delivered a pinch-hit sacrifice fly to center field as Alex Gross '25 scored from third. Bryan Jimenez '25 followed later in the frame with a single that allowed both Brandon Policar '26 and Erik Charnetski '24 to score.
  • Making his first start of the season on the mound for the Purple & Gold, Erik Berkan '27 exited the contest with two outs in the second inning. Despite yielding eight runs overall, only three would be charged as earned for Berkan as errors prolonged the inning for EC.
  • Stone finished the contest 3-for-3 at the plate for Elmira, while Charnetski added two hits for the Soaring Eagles. Brady Buttice '26, Gabe Fellows '25, Nick Lees '25, and Nathan Ofalt '26 also notched a hit in the contest for the Purple & Gold.
