ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira College women's soccer program dropped its Empire 8 Conference opener on Saturday at Campus Field as the St. John Fisher University Cardinals recorded a 4-0 shutout against the Soaring Eagles.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Cardinals opened the scoring with a goal from Madelyn Wania in the 24th minute and would later add to their advantage in the 27th minute with the first of two goals on the afternoon from Ryann Dauksza.
- In the second half of action, the Cardinals extended their lead to 3-0 on Dauksza's second goal of the contest in the 47th minute. St. John Fisher closed the scoring in the 65th minute with a tally from Kate Rachwal.
- Elmira goalkeeper Nevaeh Winston '25 recorded 18 saves on the day for the Soaring Eagles, while seven different EC field players recorded a shot on frame.
- The Soaring Eagles were able to bring more offensive pressure in the second half as Elmira recorded five shots on goal and seven shots overall against the Cardinals. Fisher finished the contest with a 22-7 advantage in shots on goal including an 11-5 edge in corner kicks.
