Rachel Bortnick '25 opened the scoring in the 34
th minute and the Soaring Eagles netted two more goals in the second half as the Elmira College women's soccer program notched its second straight victory at Campus Field with a 3-0 shutout against the SUNY Poly Wildcats.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The contest's first goal would come in the 34th minute of action after a failed clearing attempt by the Wildcats would be knocked down by Rachel Bortnick '25 just outside of the box. A shot just under the crossbar from Bortnick would beat the goalkeeper and give the Purple & Gold a 1-0 advantage.
- Despite recording eight shots on goal and outshooting SUNY Poly 11-1 in the first half, the Soaring Eagles would take a one-goal lead into the locker room against the Wildcats.
- Elmira would add to its advantage early in the second half as Mo McBride '27 took a pass from Faith Ingber '25 and would beat the goalkeeper in the 48th minute to make it 2-0 in favor of the Purple & Gold.
- After tallying a trio of goals earlier in the week, Piper Andrews '26 rounded out the scoring for Elmira in the 86th minute with her fifth goal of the season as she would beat the SUNY Poly defense and find the back of the net to make it 3-0. Ingber notched her second assist of the contest to help spring Andrews on a breakaway with the goalkeeper.
- The Soaring Eagles would outshoot the Wildcats 21-7 overall and 15-2 on goal, while Elmira goalkeeper Nevaeh Winston '25 recorded a pair of saves to secure the shutout for the Purple & Gold. McBride paced Elmira with four shots on goal, while Emily Seiler '28 recorded three shots on goal.
UP NEXT: The Soaring Eagles will hit the road for a pair of Empire 8 matchups next week against Russell Sage College and Utica University. Elmira travels to Albany on Wednesday to face the Gators followed by a trip to Utica on Saturday afternoon.
