Elmira Outshoots Sage in Loss

ALBANY, N.Y. – The Elmira College Soaring Eagles were defeated 2-1 on Wednesday night by the Russell Sage Gators at the ACP Athletic Complex. Marissa Key and Amelia Geesler scored mere minutes apart in the first half, giving Sage all the offense it needed to down Elmira.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Key's goal in the 19th minute gave the Pioneers a 1-0 lead and then, just under three minutes later, Geesler found the back of the net, bringing the lead to 2-0.

With just over ten minutes to play, Emily Andersen '26 scored her first goal of the season off a corner kick from Tierney Krawczyk '27.

Elmira outshot the Gators 6-4. Nevaeh Winston '25 picked up two second-half saves for the Soaring Eagles.

The Soaring Eagles will stay on the road for their next game on Saturday afternoon against Utica. Opening kickoff is set for 3:00 PM between the Soaring Eagles and the Pioneers.
