Soaring Eagles Downed by Pioneers 3-0

UTICA, N.Y. –  The Elmira College Soaring Eagles closed the first half of their schedule with a trip to Utica on Saturday afternoon, returning with a 3-0 loss at the hands of the Pioneers.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Second-half goals from Amber Piersma in the 64th minute, Bella Noble at the 67-minute mark, and Kayla Giovingo added another in the final minute, propelling the Pioneers past the Soaring Eagles.

Courtney Connolly stopped Faith Ingber '26 in the fourth minute, the only save the keeper needed to make on the day.

Navaeh Winston '25 turned away four shots on the day, bringing her season total to 59 in nine games, all starts.

UP NEXT:
The Soaring Eagles will open their October slate with a home conference match against the Saxons of Alfred University on Saturday, October 5. EC owns a 16-9-5 all-time edge over Alfred, having drawn the last two times the programs have matched up against each other. The opening kickoff for Elmira and Alfred will come at 1:00 PM.
