TEAM SCORE: Elmira 6, Geneseo 2
LOCATION: Pine Valley, NY | Murray Athletic Center

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Two goals from Chance Gorman '24 and a goal and an assist from Ryan Reifler '24 helped guide the Soaring Eagles to their second consecutive win and nine of the last 12 meetings with the Knights.
Brody Haynes '26 turned away 28 shots between the pipes, while Adam Harris took the loss, only stopping 24 shots of the 29 Elmira got at him.
The third period was all Elmira as the Soaring Eagles found the back of the net three times, including the first career goal for Lucas Stevenson '28. Stevenson redirected a Brennan Boyce '28 point shot, giving Harris no chance.
Tyler Schwindt '26 scored on a breakaway. The forward, playing up in the top six for the second straight game, and making the most of his opportunity, dangled around Harris who overcommitted on the play, giving Schwindt an open net on the backhand.
Eric Bertelsen '28 hit the bullseye for the Soaring Eagles, making sure the game was out of reach for the Knights.
UP NEXT:
Elmira will complete SUNY weekend with a home game against the Golden Eagles of Brockport tomorrow night at the Murray Athletic Center. Opening puck drop in the Battle of the Birds is slated for 4:00 PM.
