Gorman Hits 100 Points, Reifler Dishes Out Four Assists, Soaring Eagles Win in Boston

BOSTON, MA – The Elmira College Soaring Eagles avenged their 2-1 loss from last night with a crisp 4-2 victory in today's contest. Chance Gorman '24 became the 54th skater in EC program history to reach 100 points with his goal in the first period.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Nathan Young '25 got on the board first, just under four minutes into the game, giving EC an early 1-0 lead. Ryan Reifler '24 and Carter Wisely '25, who each finished with multiple assists in the contest, notched the helpers on Young's tally.

At the 15-minute mark of the period, it was Cole Tucker '25 finding the back of the net on the power play. The senior now has four power-play goals on the year. Reifler added his second assist of the game on Tucker's goal.

Late in the second period, Corbin Melie '28 notched his first-career collegiate goal, giving the Soaring Eagles a 3-1 lead heading into the second intermission. Reifler and Young were credited with assists on Melie's first.

Finally, with just under six minutes remaining in the third, Gorman found the back of the net, hitting the century mark for his career. The graduate student now has an even 50 goals and 50 assists in his time wearing the Purple & Gold.

Kyle Curtin was in the blue and he turned away 47 shots, a new season-high.

The Soaring Eagles are back home next weekend for a back to back with Babson. Opening puck drop from the Murray Athletic Center on Friday is slated for 7:00 PM.
