ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira College women's soccer team battled SUNY Geneseo on Saturday afternoon at Campus Field, but the visiting Knights used a steady offensive attack to earn a 3–0 victory in Empire 8 play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Despite the final score, Elmira goalkeeper Sarah Cantrell '29 turned in one of the most impressive performances of the season, recording a career-high 21 saves while facing 37 total shots. The sophomore netminder made multiple diving stops throughout the match to keep the Soaring Eagles within striking distance.
Geneseo (2–4–5, 2–1–2 E8) opened the scoring in the 28th minute on a penalty kick from Riley Griffin before extending the lead in the 57th minute with a strike from Nadia Jaworowicz. The Knights sealed the win late, as Addison Kensey added a third goal in the 89th minute.
Elmira's best scoring opportunity came midway through the second half when Faith Ingber '26 found space inside the box and fired a shot on frame, but it was turned aside by Geneseo keeper Emily McLouth.
The Soaring Eagles finished with one shot and a pair of corner kicks.
