ELMIRA, N.Y. – Seniors led the way, guiding Elmira College women's ice hockey to a 2-0 season opener victory against Salve Regina on Friday afternoon.
Alayna Toole '26 and
MK Boyle '28 each netted a goal apiece.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Soaring Eagles opened the scoring at 16:52 as Toole beat the Seahawks goalkeeper to elevate EC to a 1-0 lead.
- Boyle netted her first goal of the season at the 9:49 mark to secure the second and final goal of the evening for the Soaring Eagles.
- Elmira was aggressive from the jump, outshooting Salve 20 to eight in the first period with 11 shots on goal compared to Salve's two.
- In the second period, both teams were evenly matched as Elmira recorded five shots on frame to Salve's four, turning the match into a defensive clinic.
- The Seahawks looked to capitalize on numerous offensive opportunities during the third period of play but were unsuccessful. Salve was seen with five shots on goal compared to Elmira's three.
- Sara Sevcikova '28 stood tall in net for a trio of clutch saves in the third period at 0:40, holding the Seahawks scoreless. She stopped 10 shots to open the season 1-0 between the pipes. Elmira finished the contest with a 17-10 advantage in shots on goal against Salve.
