ALFRED, N.Y. – The Elmira College field hockey team used a dominant performance on both sides of the ball, and a hat trick from Caitlin Ehlenfield '27 to power past Alfred University, 4–0, in Empire 8 action on Saturday afternoon at Yunevich Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Soaring Eagles wasted little time setting the tone, controlling possession early and earning a series of penalty corners. Their persistence paid off in the 14th minute, when Ehlenfield capitalized off a feed from Talia Nash '28 to put EC ahead 1–0.
- Elmira continued to apply pressure throughout the first half, holding Alfred without a shot. In the 20th minute, Ehlenfield struck again — this time finishing a pass from Nicole Luther '28 to double the Soaring Eagles' lead heading into halftime.
- After the break, Elmira maintained its attacking rhythm. Ehlenfield completed her hat trick just six minutes into the third quarter, notching her team-leading third goal of the game and pushing the margin to 3–0.
- Not long after, Madison Fleming '27 added an insurance tally in the 44th minute to round out the scoring, securing victory for Elmira.
- The Soaring Eagles dominated the stat sheet, outshooting Alfred 24–0 and holding a 13–0 advantage in penalty corners. In goal, Angelina Caban '26 earned the shutout without facing a shot on target.
