ALFRED, N.Y. – Behind a stellar defensive effort and a strong showing in goal from Sarah Cantrell '29, the Elmira College women's soccer team battled Alfred University to a 0–0 draw in Empire 8 action on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Cantrell was exceptional between the posts, turning aside all eight shots on goal from the Saxons to secure her second shutout of the season. The Soaring Eagles' defensive unit—limited Alfred's quality chances despite the Saxons holding an 18–4 advantage in total shots.
• Offensively, Elmira generated several promising opportunities, including a pair of shots on target from Faith Ingber '26 and Anna Chunco '29, but Alfred goalkeeper Kiani Barnard-Pratt matched Cantrell's effort with two saves to keep the match level.
• The Soaring Eagles' best chance came in the 68th minute when Ingber broke through the back line and fired a high shot that forced a diving save. Moments later, Tierney Krawczyk '26 added pressure with a late effort that sailed wide of goal.
