COBLESKILL, N.Y. – The Elmira College women's basketball team was on the road at SUNY Cobleskill this afternoon where a nail-bitter finish saw the Soaring Eagles narrowly drop the contest, 60-58.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Soaring Eagles opened the game with a 4-0 run courtesy of layups from Emma Ryan '28 and Amarionah Dixon '26. The Fighting Tigers quickly recaptured the lead and closed the first period with a 13-point lead.
- Elmira was relentless and looked to cut the deficit, outscoring SUNY Cobleskill 21-13 in the second period. A shot in the paint from Lauren Miller '27 cut the Fighting Tigers lead to six.
- A three-point shot drained by Mallory Welty '26 sent Elmira into the half trailing by five.
- The third period was a defensive battle between the two teams with neither side producing double digits.
- The fourth period saw Elmira open with a trio of three-pointers from Mia Welty '26 and Miller to cut the deficit to three. Both teams were within five points of each other the reminder of the contest.
- With their work cut out for them, the Soaring Eagles outscored the Fighting Tigers 26-18 in the fourth period but just missed the mark.
- Dixon led the way offensively recording a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds followed by Ryan with 14 points and seven rebounds.
UP NEXT: The Soaring Eagles will host Misericordia for their first home contest of the season on Wednesday, November 12. Tip-off is set for 6:00 PM.
