BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Tyler Cardello '26 led Elmira College with 16 points and six rebounds, but the Soaring Eagles couldn't keep pace with SUNY Brockport, falling 87-67 in an Empire 8 matchup on Saturday afternoon at the Jim and John Vlogianitis Gym.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The first half was tightly contested, with three ties and eight lead changes. Elmira trailed just 38-30 at the break, thanks to strong play from Cardello and Riley Spencer '26, who knocked down a pair of three-pointers.
- In the second half, Brockport's offense found another gear, outscoring Elmira 49-37. The Soaring Eagles struggled to contain Brockport's fast-paced attack, especially in transition, as the Golden Eagles capitalized with 11 fast-break points.
- Cardello finished with a team-high 16 points, going 5-of-16 from the floor and 5-of-7 from the free-throw line.
- Emmanuel Karkari-Mensah '28 provided a spark off the bench, scoring 10 points in just nine minutes of action.
- Kelton Brown '28 added eight points, four rebounds, and three steals, while Spencer also contributed eight points with two three-pointers.
- Despite strong bench production (27 points), Elmira's 35.0% shooting from the field and 17 turnovers made it difficult to close the gap in the second half.
