Amber Myers Releases 2025 Competition Schedule Preceding First Event

ELMIRA, NY – Elmira College Cheerleading head coach Amber Myers has released her team's competition schedule on Monday morning. The schedule includes two events that will be hosted by the Soaring Eagles.

To begin the year, the Purple & Gold will compete in the Shout I Love NY Championship on Saturday, March 15, in Nedrow, NY. When the Soaring Eagles last participated in the event on March 18, 2023, they accomplished the following: 1st Place, Small Coed Advanced, College Level Grand, Collegiate Grand Champions.

Up next will be the Soaring Eagles' signature event, the Upstate Collegiate Championship on Sunday, March 23. The event will be held at the Murray Athletic Center in Pine Valley, NY. The Purple & Gold have hosted the event every year since 2019 (excluding 2021 – COVID).

"The Upstate Collegiate Championship is a college only competition that we started in 2015 for teams as they prepare for NCA College Nationals. We are excited to welcome 8 colleges to the domes this year with routines in various divisions as hip hop, jazz, game day, spirit rally, intermediate, and advanced. It is a great way to have a home competition for EC Cheer & Dance so that other students, family, and friends can attend," Myers shared.

The midpoint of Elmira's schedule lands on the final weekend in March. EC will travel to the University of New Hampshire for the New England College Championships from Friday, Mach 28 through Saturday, March 29.

To prepare for the national tournament, the Soaring Eagles will host their annual Nationals Showcase in Speidel Gymnasium on Monday, April 7. This serves as the team's final chance to perform in front of local supporters before traveling to the NCA College Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida.

The National Tournament, from April 9-13 in Florida, will be where the Soaring Eagles hope to capture another national championship to add to the three the program already has. Last year, EC placed second overall in the finals.
