ITHACA, N.Y. – Elmira College women's soccer goalkeeper Sarah Cantrell '29 registered 17 saves in her collegiate debut, as the Soaring Eagles dropped a 2-0 decision in their 2025 season opener on the road against Ithaca College on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Ithaca opened the scoring in the 24th minute and would double its advantage with another goal in the 66th minute. Allie McCabe and Kaelyn Fernandez tallied both goals for the Bombers in the contest.
- The Soaring Eagles looked to answer late in the contest with a corner kick opportunity in the 89th minute.
- Along with Cantrell making her first collegiate appearance in the cage for Elmira, Anna Chunco '29, Samantha Palmisano '29, Dani Cruz '29, and Rhyan Lewis '29 each played in their first collegiate game for the Purple & Gold.
