ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Soaring Eagles held leads of 1-0, 2-1 and 3-1 before settling for a tie with visiting St. John Fisher on Saturday for the Empire 8 Conference opener for both teams. Two of the three Elmira goals came from defenders.

- EC's Aadne Aarstad '28 put the Soaring Eagles ahead, 1-0, in the fifth minute of the contest with a high shot after taking a feed from Daniel Mercedes '27.
- Valentino Aguilera '27 broke a 1-1 tie with a low shot in the 39th minute to put the Purple and Gold up, 2-1, with an assist to Luka Tatanashvilli '29.
- Pietro Gallina '26 extended the Elmira lead at 3-1 in the 11th minute of the second half with a low shot.
- Mercedes assisted on the first and third goals for Elmira.
- Juan Carlos Cruz Gandia '27 recorded three saves in the tie.
- The Soaring Eagles finished with eight corners to Fisher's three.
- Elmira held the edge in shots 17-12 with seven Fisher shots finding the target.
- Aguilera led Elmira in shots with five shots with three on target.
- Elmira has tied the Cardinals in three of the last five meetings.
