ELMIRA, NY – The Elmira College Women's Basketball team has released its schedule for the 2025-26 season on Friday afternoon. This year sees the Soaring Eagles, led by fourth-year head coach Thad Phillips, play 12 of their 25 games inside Speidel Gymnasium.
The Purple and Gold's season kicks off with four of its first five games on the road. The opening game is at Morrisville State on Saturday, November 8, followed by a trip to Cobleskill on Saturday, November 9.
The Soaring Eagles' home opener at Speidel Gymnasium is against Misericordia University on Tuesday, November 11, at 6 PM. EC returns to the road to face Hilbert College on Saturday, November 15, and then Penn College on Wednesday, November 19, before closing out November by hosting Alfred State College on Saturday, November 22.
Elmira closes out the calendar year with three games in December. The Soaring Eagles travel to Marywood University on Wednesday, December 3, before closing the semester at Speidel Gymnasium against Lycoming College on Saturday, December 13, and Keystone College on Tuesday, December 30.
EC begins conference play on the road at SUNY Brockport on Tuesday, January 6, before starting one of its two three-game homestands. The Purple and Gold open that home stretch at Speidel Gymnasium against visiting Hartwick College on Friday, January 9 followed by Russell Sage College on Saturday, January 10 and SUNY Geneseo on Tuesday, January 13.
The Purple and Gold then begins its longest road stretch of the season with five contests in eleven days, as Elmira travels to Nazareth University on Friday, January 16, followed by St. John Fisher University on Saturday, January 17, SUNY Poly on Friday, January 23, Utica University on Saturday, January 24, and Keuka College on Tuesday, January 27. The Soaring Eagles look to continue their six-game winning streak against the Wolves, having also won 17 of their last 19 matchups against Keuka dating back to 1995.
The Soaring Eagles return home at Speidel Gymnasium for the final weekend in January by hosting Alfred University on Friday, January 30, and Houghton University on Saturday, January 31.
As the calendar rolls to February, Elmira travels to Albany, New York, to face Sage College on Friday, February 6, and then to Oneonta, New York, to take on Hartwick College on Saturday, February 7.
EC rounds out the regular season with its final three-game homestand, with three games over five days. St. John Fisher University visits Speidel Gymnasium on Friday, February 13, followed by Nazareth University on Saturday, February 14, and Keuka College on Tuesday, February 17.
