Women's Wrestling Finishes Sixth at NWCA National Duals Meet

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – The Elmira College women's wrestling team traveled to compete in the 2025 NWCA National Dual Meet Championship to open the 2026 portion of their season. The Division 3 section of the dual featured 16 teams in total, seeing Elmira finish in sixth place.

SOARING EAGLES EDGE PAST AUGUSTANA (IL), 24-23
In their first match of the day, the Soaring Eagles went head-to-head with Augustana (IL) and edged past for a 24-23 victory. Representing the 110-weight class, Abby Duke notched a fall at 2:24. In the 124 bout, Megan Edwards best her opponent with a fall at 1:08. Gabby Bradigan represented the 138-weight class and was seen recording a 9-2 decision against her opponent. 
In the 145 bout, Zoey Lints notched the fall at 0:33 against her opponent. Talia Robles followed suit and closed out the win for Elmira in the 160-weight class with a hard-fought 8-4 decision. 

ELMIRA DROPS DUAL TO AURORA, 29-17
In their second match of the day, the Soaring Eagles were met with Aurora where they dropped their first dual of the meet, 29-17. In the 110 bout, Duke recorded a 10-0 tech fall for the first points of the dual for EC. Edwards followed suit with a fall at 2:01 in the 124-weight class. In the 145 bout, Lints was seen notching her second fall of the day at 0:37. Robles rounded it out for EC with a 12-5 decision against her opponent, but the Soaring Eagles fell short 29-17.

PURPLE & GOLD BEST SCHRIENER BY FALLS, 24-24
In their third match of the day, Elmira went head-to-head with Schriener and recorded the 24-24 victory decided by falls. Duke opened the scoring with a 10-0 tech fall in the 110-weight class followed by Edwards with a fall at 0:36 in the 124 bout. Bradigan was seen notching the fall at 1:00 against her opponent in the 138-weight class. 
In the 145 bout, Lints recorded the fall at 2:38. Robles closed it out for EC in the 160-weight class with a fall at 2:01 against her opponent, securing the victory with a team total four falls.

SOARING EAGLES SNEAK PAST EASTERN, 25-22
In their fourth match of the day, Elmira met with Eastern and were able to sneak past with a 25-22 victory. Duke once again opened the scoring for EC with a fall at 1:01 in the 110 bout. A forfeit in the 131-weight class saw Kali Bailey contribute to the Soaring Eagles scoring. 
In the 138 bout, Bradigan notched the fall at 4:48 followed by Lints with an 8-2 decision against her opponent in the 145-weight class. Alexis Bilka-Durdon secured the victory in the 207 bout with a forfeit victory to put EC in the match for fifth place.

ELMIRA FALLS SHORT TO AUGUSTANA (IL), 26-19
In their final match of the day, Elmira competed against Augustana (IL) for a chance at fifth place but fell just short 26-19. Duke opened the scoring in the dual with a 12-2 tech fall in the 110-weight class. Edwards followed suit in the 124 bout with a 12-0 tech fall against her opponent. In the 138-weight class, Bradigan recorded a 13-2 tech fall followed by Lints with an 11-0 tech fall in the 145 bout.

The Soaring Eagles remain on the road for the Will Abele Invitational in Collegeville, PA on Saturday, January 17. The Invite is set to start at 10:00 AM.
