Men’s Hockey Falls to Babson College, 8-4

OSWEGO, N.Y. - The Elmira men's ice hockey team traveled to Oswego Friday afternoon to compete in the Oswego State Holiday Classic. They faced Babson College, falling 8-4 against the Beavers.

PLAY-BY-PLAY
Babson started strong, finding the back of the net four minutes in before adding another goal halfway through the first period. The Beavers extended their lead to 3-0 before an Austin Jerzak buzzer-beater helped pull the Soaring Eagles within two at the conclusion of the first period.

Babson scored on a two-on-one early in the second period to recapture a three-goal lead. EC tried to apply pressure and get pucks on net, but strong goaltending by the Beavers proved difficult to beat. Four more goals by Babson gave them an 8-1 lead over Elmira after two.

Tyler Schwindt buried a rebound to open the third-period scoring just under five minutes in. Nicholas Bennett blasted a one-timer to make it 8-3 before a Makai Tarjamo snapshot found the back of the net a minute later. A strong third period was not enough to overcome the deficit, as Babson College won 8-4.
