OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Soaring Eagles men's hockey team faced Oswego State in a consolation game of the Oswego State Holiday Classic. Elmira fell to the Lakers in a 6–2 contest.

Oswego State opened the scoring five minutes into the game before doubling its lead shortly after. Elmira looked for a spark and generated shots on net, but the Lakers found a third goal on a net-front scramble. Two more goals by Oswego State gave them a 5–0 lead at the end of the first period.
The Soaring Eagles found their first goal of the game off the stick of Tyler Schwindt, with assists from Nicholas Bennett and Lucas Stevenson. A strong response by the Lakers quickly re-extended their lead to five, and the second period ended with Oswego State leading 6–1.
Seth Ferguson's power-play goal cut Elmira's deficit to four about halfway through the third period. The Soaring Eagles continued to push to find a way back into the game but ultimately fell, 6–2.
