PINE VALLEY, N.Y. - The Elmira College men's hockey team hosted the Knights of SUNY Geneseo for a rematch of yesterday's game, where the Soaring Eagles were victorious against their #12 ranked opponents. EC battled hard to sweep the weekend, but narrowly fell, 4-3.

SUNY Geneseo was motivated in the first period, scoring just over six minutes into the contest on a rush chance. The Soaring Eagles capitalized on a powerplay shortly after, as Brody Finnegan's shot from the point found the back of the net. The Knights responded almost immediately, with Alex Dameski scoring his second of the game to regain a 2-1 lead. The Soaring Eagles went into the first intermission trailing while being outshot, 17-4.
A stronger start to the second period saw EC getting pucks on net and generating chances, but it was Geneseo that struck first on a shorthanded breakaway. Thirty seconds later, Lucas Stevenson pulled the Soaring Eagles back within one with a one-time blast. The second period ended with Elmira trailing 3-2, despite outshooting the Knights 17-13.
SUNY Geneseo scored its second powerplay goal just thirty seconds into the third period. EC looked to strike back, and did so when Stevenson sniped one past the Geneseo netminder with ten minutes left to play. The Soaring Eagles pushed to equalize, but the Knights' defense stood tall as Elmira ran out of time.
