PINE VALLEY, N.Y. - The Elmira College women's hockey team hosted the Falcons of Albertus Magnus College for the second of two UCHC matchups Saturday afternoon as part of Athletics Alumni Weekend. The Soaring Eagles marked eight different goalscorers in a dominating 8-2 victory over the Falcons.

Elmira came ready to play in the second matchup against Albertus Magnus, opening the first period outshooting the Falcons 20-5. The Soaring Eagles took their first shot of the game less than a minute from the opening faceoff. EC worked quickly seeing
Mo McBride find the stick of
Alayna Toole when they were short-handed. The Falcons responded two minutes later with a goal of their own to even the score at one apiece. Within thirty seconds,
Piper Thompson found the back to elevate EC 2-1.
Abby Eselunas followed suit with assist from
MK Boyle in the 13
th minute to grow the deficit, 3-1. A two-minute penalty for roughing on the Falcons led
Amber Meluzio to net a power-play goal for a 4-1 Elmira lead at the end of the first period.
EC carried their offensive momentum into the second period, outshooting Albertus Magnus 14-2. Nine minutes into the period,
Piper Andrews worked with Toole to find the back of the net and elevate Elmira to a score of 5-1. A minute later, Lugge worked her way down the ice to grab a goal of her own (6-1). The Soaring Eagles continued to strike on the offensive side, sending them into the final period with a 6-1 advantage. Two minutes into the third period, Eselunes found the stick of Boyle to continue growing the gap. Elmira's final goal of the evening came off the stick of Rian Comeau with Thompson picking up the assist. The Falcons were able to net one with five minutes remaining but was no match for the Soaring Eagles offense (8-2).
