HAMBURG, N.Y. - The Elmira College women's hockey team traveled to Hamburg for a UCHC game against the Hilbert Hawks. The Soaring Eagles dominated for sixty minutes, winning by a score of 6-0 while outshooting the Hawks, 76-4.

Maura O'Keeffe scored the first goal of the game, putting home a rebound to make it 1–0 just over ten minutes in.
Sarah Waszkielewicz doubled EC's advantage three minutes later with a power-play goal off a rebound. The Soaring Eagles did not let up, as
Anna Lugge danced through the Hilbert defense and wired a wrist shot past the Hawks' netminder to extend EC's lead.
Abby Eselunas's buzzer-beating snipe with 0.4 seconds left on the clock gave the Soaring Eagles a 4–0 lead heading into the first intermission, outshooting Hilbert 24–1.
Elmira looked to pick up where they left off in the second period, but strong goaltending from Hilbert proved difficult to beat until
Amber Meluzio's shorthanded goal made it a 5–0 game. The Soaring Eagles outshot the Hawks 28–1 in the second period but could not extend their lead beyond five.
The Soaring Eagles limited chances against for the majority of the final period and killed off a Hilbert power play as EC looked to secure the shutout victory. The lone goal of the period came with just under three minutes remaining, as Eselunas netted her second of the game on a shot from the slot that found the back of the net. The Soaring Eagles pulled out a 6–0 win and improved their record to 12–3–2.

The Soaring Eagles will travel to Nazareth University on Friday, February 6 to face the #7 ranked Golden Flyers in a UCHC matchup. Puck drop is set for 6:30 PM. The following day, the two sides will play a rematch back at the Murray Athletic Center at 7:00 PM.
